Child Psychiatry Consultation
Many times when
families have visited our farm who have a child with ongoing medical and/or
developmental issues, parents have a myriad of questions or concerns about
their child's current treatment and/or diagnosis, medication options/potential
side effects, etc.... As a mother or father we certainly want what's best for
our children and this becomes even more of a worry when you have a child that
may have a complex medical history and daily medical needs. The medical
field with all its complexities and wonders can be compared to your computer
system. It's wonderful when it works correctly, but incredibly
frustrating when it doesn't.
If you need help
making decisions regarding your child's medical welfare, have questions about
your current treatment or diagnosis, need help navigating the system, or have
worries about their psychiatric well being, we offer on a limited basis,
consultation with a board certified psychiatrist, Larry A. Graham M.D..
What's a psychiatrist
you ask? A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who completes a four year
undergraduate degree, a four year graduate degree in medicine, and a four
year training residency in psychiatry (mental health). In addition, to treat
children and adolescents a two year fellowship is required. Child
psychiatrists have extensive training in the fields of neurology and
pediatrics as well.
Dr. Graham attended
the University of Louisville School of Science and the University of
Louisville Medical School. He completed his residency in adult psychiatry at
University Hospital/University of Cincinnati and a child/adolescent fellowship
at Children's Hospital Medical Center. He is board certified in psychiatry and
a physician in good standing with the Ohio State Medical Board. He is the
Behavioral Health Director of Mercy Health Partners/Clermont Mercy Hospital
and Mercy Hospital Mt. Airy in Cincinnati Ohio.
